Our School

Welcome to Caherea National School

Our school was founded in 1961 and has always had a very close connection with the local community. It is a two-class school with a supportive atmosphere that encourages everyone to work and develop together. We have a separate room for special education teaching and a yard that includes a basketball court, astro-turf, an outdoor classroom and a school garden.

In 2020, we opened a before and after school service for families in the school. This has been a tremendous success and it is of real benefit to all parents in the community.

At present, there are 39 pupils in the school with 17 in the junior room and 22 in the senior room. We have two mainstream class teachers, a special education teachers and one special needs assistants.
