Welcome to Caherea National School.
Our school was founded in 1961 and has always had a very close connection with the local community. It is a two-class school with a supportive atmosphere that encourages everyone to work and develop together. We have a separate room for special education teaching and a yard that includes a basketball court, an astro-turf, an outdoor learning area and a school garden.
We have two mainstream class teachers, one special education teacher and one special needs assistants.
In 2020, we opened a before and after school service for families in the school. This has been a tremendous success and it is of real benefit to all parents in the community. An astro turf and outdoor classroom were added in 2022 which have greatly enhanced our school grounds.
