Athletics

Every year in late September, a large group of our pupils take part in the West Clare Cross-Country races. It is a wonderful event where pupils have to navigate the challenges of hills, an open field and often the weather. The boys and girls compete in U8s, U10s and Over 10s races. There are individual prizes and team prizes for each race with an overall trophy going to the most successful parish on the day. A huge congratulations to all those who take part and represent the school with great spirit and enthusiasm.

In the past years, we have had a great success as the parish has won the overall trophy on many occasions. We have also had individual winners and team winners. Many pupils have represented us at the all Clare finals and have won on the biggest stage of the year for athletics in Clare schools. Well done all!
