Chess

In the past few years, we have been delighted to build our chess knowledge and skills. We hold an after-school club for a few weeks in the year when the pupils learn how to play the game and enjoy playing one another. In February, we join other schools for a participation-focussed chess tournament. Chess in primary schools is supported by Ficheall and their resources help develop the game in the school. Chess helps our pupils to develop their cognitive, social and resilience skills in a fun and friendly environment.
